The mouthwatering meals at New Farm Curry House have won them Best Indian Restaurant for Southeast Queensland at the 2024 Restaurant and Catering Awards for excellence.
Professional Chef and Restaurateur Mahesh and the first-rate chef he cooks alongside have worked in 5-star hotels in India and bring to Brisbane their expertise in authentic Southeast Asian food.
They serve a specialised and perfected menu of dishes that can be tailored to your specific dietary requirements.
The menu combines the traditional dishes you’ve come to love with upcoming additions of Modern Indian Fusion to bring together the diverse flavours across the Asia-Pacific region.
Every meal and drop of sauce is lovingly cooked fresh every day with fresh ginger and garlic, with vegan, dairy free, and nut free options available.
Piping hot naan is served straight out of their specialised tandoor oven, which crisps the naan to perfection in just 40 seconds at 400°C.
Leading New Farm Curry House is self-taught businesswoman and working mother, Geeta Singh.
Mahesh and Geeta are from Lucknow in northern India, known for its brilliant biryani, and on their yearly trips back to India they seek out different dishes and flavours that can inspire their menus.
The couple is passionate about developing a menu that their customers will love – Geeta is currently studying Food Science and said she is always talking to people to understand their palate.
Geeta said: “We believe in good food and good service – we don’t just want to satisfy our customers; we want to delight them.”
“We enjoy cooking and serving and creating a beautiful experience.”
She said they think of cooking as poetry.
Just as writers have access to the same 26 letters, chefs have access to the same spices and ingredients, but it is the love in their arrangement that brings poetry – or a special curry – to life.
