A thriller series about disappearing members of a run club is about to start filming along the riverwalks of Brisbane, including in Hamilton and Newstead.
Co-creators of RUN CLUB, Nikki Brown and Grace Julia said the dark comedy show is full of characters you’ll “love to hate”.
They describe it as a “tongue-in-cheek” whodunnit – when members of a hit new run club start disappearing, founder Nat is in a race against time to solve the mystery.
With support from Screen Queensland, the series is pushing the boundaries of social media to premiere on Instagram Reels this December 2, in five parts.
Ms Brown and Ms Julia have both worked on digital projects before, including their last comedy series ‘Let’s Get Ducking Famous’, and are wanting to pioneer in the space of social media digital series.
They also hope the digital series can be a launching pad for cast and crew into TV and are focused on creating opportunities for women in a male-dominated industry.
“In the end, this is the screen we look at the most,” Ms Julia said.
Their strategy is for each cast member to be a collaborator on the Instagram reel, and they have calculated that between their various accounts, the series should get at least 1 million views.
