A 24-hour McDonald’s proposed for 330 Nudgee Rd in a residential area of Hendra is causing local concern about traffic.
Wolff Coffee Roasters is across the road from the site and owner Peter Wolff said residents will be impacted by increased traffic and nighttime activity.
“Talking to the community, they have a lot of concerns around the increase of traffic, also being a 24hr McDonalds, what that is going to do in terms of the amenity to the area,” Mr Wolff said.
He voiced concerns about traffic congestion on what is already a “notoriously busy” corner.
Hendra resident Kate Gould echoed these sentiments, saying: “I am strongly against the building of a McDonald’s at 330 Nudgee Road for health, environmental and community reasons. Very happy to formally object once public notification period commences.”
Almost 100 objections have already been lodged against the development application.
