What’s the number one issue in the Clayfield electorate? How would you fix it?
Crime. Crime is what I hear about from constituents day in and day out. Labor’s crime crisis is pushing up the cost of living and driving locals to breaking point. The LNP’s Making Our Community Safer Plan including Adult Crime Adult Time will be law by Christmas if we are elected.
What do you think is the best way to improve transport services to the Northshore area which will be seeing major population growth?
Constituents have asked for a Gold CityGlider bus service from the City to Northshore for over a year now. State Labor has rejected Council’s proposal for funding. The LNP has committed $6 million to jointly fund the Gold CityGlider service if elected on October 26th.
What would be your own plans for Albion Station – would you still be wanting to redevelop the station and TOD?
After almost 10 years of broken promises to upgrade Albion Station, Labor can’t be trusted to fix the problem. The platforms and facilities need an upgrade and if the LNP is elected I would work closely with Queensland Rail to prioritise that work.
How will you harness the opportunity the Olympics provides to create improvements in Clayfield?
Labor has wasted over 1000 days since Brisbane was awarded the Games. The LNP has committed to a 100-day review of arrangements and to reinstate the Independent Delivery Authority that Steven Miles and Anastacia Palaszczuk scrapped. My focus will be on better and more accessible transport solutions for Clayfield.
Many of your constituents are concerned about flight noise and pollution – are you prepared to support these residents and advocate for change?
State representatives don’t control flight paths or operations at Brisbane Airport. This is entirely a Commonwealth matter. I always encourage residents to engage with AirServices Australia and Brisbane Airport at every given opportunity. I have already suggested options to reduce noise impacts and will continue to do so. Anyone who promises an easy or quick solution is simply lying to residents.
