Gerard Benjamin is a historian and author who has lived in Newstead since 2003. He is a long-term member of the New Farm & Districts Historical Society and was their newsletter editor for 11 years. He is the author of local history books Reflections on New Farm (with the late Gloria Grant), Homes with History on the New Farm Peninsula, and New Farm: 50 Stories, an extended compilation of history articles written for the Village Voice.
