Village Voice Brisbane (published by entity Local News Publisher Pty Ltd) publishes print newspapers as well as an online news website, and public engagement with any of our platforms is based on the following terms.

Contributing Content

You are responsible for all content you contribute to Village Voice Brisbane for print, online or social media distribution, including text, photos, videos, audio and links (Your Content).

By contributing content to Village Voice Brisbane, you grant the Village Voice Brisbane a royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use Your Content in any way and in any media. You retain copyright and any other rights you hold in Your Content and can continue to share and commercialise Your Content as you wish.

You confirm that you own or have the right to use any copyright material included in Your Content (including music, photos, quotes and excerpts of audio or video), that you have permission of anyone appearing or performing in Your Content and that you are not infringing any person’s rights by submitting the content to Village Voice Brisbane. When accessing or participating in a Village Voice Brisbane-managed space on a third party platform, such as channels, pages or feeds hosted on an external site, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions specified by that third party platform.

Village Voice Brisbane recommends you make sure you understand the privacy obligations and settings for each platform with which you engage and choose appropriate options to protect your personal details and content shared.

Use of Village Voice Brisbane Content

All intellectual property rights in the content, software and systems owned by or licensed to Local News Publisher Pty Ltd on any Village Voice publication, including logos, images, names, designs, trade marks and copyright (Village Voice Brisbane Content) are reserved to Village Voice Brisbane and its licensors.

Village Voice Brisbane Content is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only.

Unless specifically noted in the House Rules for a particular service, you may not otherwise reproduce, republish, modify, adapt, translate, prepare derivative works from, reverse engineer or disassemble Village Voice Brisbane Content, without obtaining Village Voice Brisbane’s prior written permission.

You understand and agree that Village Voice Brisbane has ultimate editorial control over all its online services. Village Voice Brisbane may edit, remove, or exercise its discretion not to publish your contribution for legal or editorial reasons, or if the content of your post does not align with Village Voice Brisbane’s values. Village Voice Brisbane reserves the right to close comments on posts that may elicit harmful, defamatory or otherwise unlawful user contributions.

Comments and posts on our social media accounts do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Village Voice Brisbane, its employees, or affiliates. Village Voice Brisbane does not endorse user-posted material and is not responsible for its accuracy.

All materials posted by users must comply with the Terms of Use. Village Voice Brisbane takes a zero tolerance approach regarding harassment, racial vilification, privacy breaches, contempt, and lateral violence.

In addition, users may not post any material that:

is abusive, obscene, threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise deemed offensive;
is unlawful, fraudulent, intentionally false, misleading, or malicious;
infringes on the intellectual property rights, including copyright;
infringes on the privacy rights of others, including personal information;
is repetitive or vexatious;
is entirely off-topic or not relevant to the original content material posted by us;
