2024 will go down as a landmark year in the history of Brothers. Entering our 120th year, and with a club that has something for five-year-olds picking up their first rugby ball, to veteran grades players and all points in between. All these ages and stages are valued at Brothers, and in 2024 we have many successes across park that the whole club can be proud of, including:
- Australian Club Championship Winners
- Back-to-back Hospital Cups Winners
- Back-to-back Doughty Shield Champions
- Premierships in 2nd, 4th and 5th Grades
- 3 Junior Rugby Premierships across U13s and U 16s
- Runners Up in our Junior Girls U12s
To all of the players, coaches, managers and support staff involved – congratulations! This is a remarkable showing, and to be able to hold such a high level of performance across all areas of the club clearly shows the skill and effort in which all ply their trade.
However, these results only scratch the surface of the wonderful blend of people that make up Brothers. Success on the field is valued, but not as much as the support of our club community, and there are many hundreds of players for whom we are honoured to have been home this year.
Despite the season being done, the club has been highly active behind the scenes, working through a changing sporting landscape and preparing for the next stages of its future. There is a lot coming down the pipeline of this soon to be 120-year-old institution.
The job is, and will never, be done. And although this was a landmark year for the club, we will never allow ourselves to take these moments for granted.
Looking forward to 2025. We go again.
