This year’s Epic Walk for DV on March 30 raised $324,353 for Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ), exceeding their goal of $300,000.

For the first time, the walk was held in three locations – New Farm Park, Airlie Beach and North Burleigh Heads.

WLSQ CEO Nadia Bromley said on the morning of the walk that since last year’s fundraiser, their organisation had been able to provide over 47,000 services across the state to women seeking support from domestic violence.

“Because we know the scourge of domestic violence is so widespread, it is our lives that we’re saving, it is our sisters, our friends, our cousins, and our mothers that we are helping.”

“So this sea of purple is a real joy to my heart today,” Ms Bromley said.
