Artist visit promises Sicilian brushstrokes and an Italian ode to love, life and poetry.

Originally from Sicily with an illustrious career of more than 500 exhibitions staged across the globe in New York, London, Paris, Vienna, Stockholm, Berlin and beyond, this will be the first ever visit to Australia for the 76-year-old artist.

Lorenzo’s residency will present a rare opportunity for visitors to The Pen Shoppe and Brisbane Arcade to meet the artist in person, see his Sicilian brush in action with real life painting demonstrations capturing his impressions of Brisbane and even attend an exclusive cocktail party.

Closely influenced and mentored by Picasso art contemporaries, Lorenzo’s art themes are firmly based around love and his love of life.

Lorenzo’s Australian debut is thanks to a chance encounter with penmanship extraordinaire and owner of The Pen Shoppe, Barbara Nichol at an art exhibition in Modica in southern Sicily in 2017 and have since kept in touch with Barbara visiting his Milan studio when visiting her European pen suppliers each January.

“With his rich artistic and cultural heritage, it is an honour for The Pen Shoppe to be hosting Lorenzo here in Brisbane Arcade – Brisbane’s very own 101 year old heritage shopping arcade that has long been a creative hub for makers, designers, artists and even one of the most renowned privately owned art galleries, the Johnston Gallery during the 1950s,” Ms Nichol said.

“Brisbane art lovers and artists will be delighted as Lorenzo will be demonstrating the creative possibilities using
