With the likes of Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter dominating the music charts, New Farm’s answer to the feminomenon is Siena Larsson, a musician who embraces her girly side and isn’t afraid to dish out the details.

“It’s so important to know who you are as an artist, and… in the past few years I’ve realised I just love pop music, I love being a girly girl, I love pink, and it’s so nice that it’s coming back,” Ms Larsson said.

The independent musician from New Farm who made it to #1 on the New York radio station aBreak58 with her last single Convenient in January is about to release her next song at the end of this month with a debut EP also on the horizon.

According to Ms Larsson, Mr. Bad News is a pop/r’n’b style song that people can “jump around and scream-sing to”.

“When I wrote this song I had just gone through a breakup situation, and I had gone through all the stage of grief and ended up at last thinking, ‘I’m just sort of pissed off’,” she said.

She looks to music to find comfort in others knowing exactly how she feels when she is going through a difficult time in a relationship.

“I like to keep it not vague, because I want to know the details in someone’s life and I want to connect with the details.”
